Igor Kucer studied violin first at the Conservatory in Košice and subsequently at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. At that time he was a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Young Bratislava Soloists. Igor successfully passed the Academy of Performing Arts of P.I. Tchaikovsky in the field of opera and chamber singing under the guidance of proffesor Vladimir Tymochin and proffesor Misha Didyk. He also successfuly completed his PhD under the supervision of proffesor Zoya Lichtman. During his studies, he worked as a soloist of the theater of P.I.Tchaikovsky. At that time, under the leadership of the leading conductors of Leo Gorbatenkov and Alli Kuľbab he portrayed a role of Lensky's opera Eugene Onegin, Count Almaviva from the opera of The Barber of Seville, Alfredo from operetta Die Fledermaus, and many more.
As a soloist he has been presented at the Czech National theatre in Brno, in role of Pierre Bezukhov in the opera War and Peace (by S.Prokofiev) with conductor Sergey Politik and in Mozart's opera Idomeneo with the conductor Caspar Richter and Jakub Klecker, where Igor played the title role of Idomeneo. With the Prague State Opera, he played a role of Alfredo in the famous opera piece of La Traviata. The State Theatre in Košice held him as a soloist in opera of G. Rossini - The Barber of Seville (role of Almaviva), opera by W.A. Mozart - The Magic Flute (role of Tamino) and opera by W.A. Mozart - Don Giovanni (role of Don Ottavio).
Igor regularly collaborates with the Kiev philharmonic orchestra, Symphony orchestra of Radio and television in Moscow, Košice philharmonic orchestra, Pilsen philharmonic orchestra, chamber orchestra Virtuosi di Praga, Musica Minore and orchestra of the State opera in Budapest (Failoni orchestra). Igor also cooperated with the 100-member gypsy orchestra of Budapest, with which he was introduced in the Steel arena in Kosice.
In addition to concert activities at home in Slovakia and the Czech Republic he also performed in Mexico, Japan, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Hungary, England, Spain and Germany. Igor is currently working on projects connecting different genres together, linking the world of opera and classical music with jazz, rock, pop and folk music. In particular in cooperation with Emotion Group, AMC Trio, Presov dixieland, Inside Group, Golden Violin, LH Zemplín and many more.

This unusual music project originated from authentic recordings of Andy’s Warhol mother, Juliet Závacká Warhol, who thanks to the initiative of her son Andy, recorded in the fifties an LP in a recording studio in Pittsburgh of original Rusyn folk songs. Listen to the album
